The Crag Law Center is a client-focused law center that undertakes a diversity of issues for an extremely diverse range of clients. Crag provides educational and volunteer opportunities to numerous law students, young attorneys, college and high-school students and members of the community. You are welcome to get involved directly in our efforts or to join in the work of our clients.

Public Lands Program. The Crag Law Center is working with a number of different conservation groups to advocate for public lands in Oregon, Washington and Alaska. Crag Law Center takes action in courts of law to ensure compliance with federal environmental laws. The Crag Law Center also works cooperatively with local citizens and federal agencies to educate and engage the public in the stewardship of America’s natural heritage.

Water Quality & Wetlands Program. The Crag Law Center represents local residents, fish conservation organizations, outdoor recreation clubs and conservation groups to protect watersheds in Oregon, Washington and Alaska. The Crag Law Center enforces the mandates of the Clean Water Act and regional water quality standards and guidelines. For example, the Crag Law Center is working with environmental groups to hold the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife accountable for violations of the Clean Water Act. Students have helped us write 60 day notices and bring court actions against the most egregious violators of the nation’s landmark environmental laws.

Livable Communities Program. The Crag Law Center works to protect the Oregon Coast, advocates for its clients to ensure the faithful implementation of the law, and provides legal services to underserved communities and groups through its Environmental Justice Initiative.

Through these three programs, the Crag Law Center represents:
