Name: Anu Sawkar
What brought you to Crag?  A close family friend and a desire to do my small part to protect and preserve the Pacific Northwest (my favorite corner in the world).
What are your environmental/legal interests?  Environmental justice, environmental health, and preserving access to public lands and waterways
Favorite wild place: I love the Columbia River Gorge for all of its places, wild and tame.
Favorite book: It usually depends on what chair I’m sitting in at the moment.
Favorite memoir: Dreams from My Father by President Barack Obama.
Favorite autobiography: American On Purpose by Craig Ferguson.
Favorite historical non-fiction: Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin.
Favorite historical fiction: Girl with a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier. The Jeeves and Wooster collection by P.G. Wodehouse shaped my sense of humor. I could read the Harry Potter series over and over again.
Favorite quote: “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.“ ~ Maya Angelou
