Local artist and longtime Crag supporter Carl Annala’s beautiful nature-inspired paintings are on on view at Blackbird Wineshop from April 15 – June 15, 2025! For every painting purchased, Carl is donating 50% of the proceeds to Crag!
Stop by Blackbird Wineshop anytime between April 15 – June 15 to view and purchase Carl’s paintings. They are open on Tuesday-Saturday from 12-7 PM, and on Sundays from 1-6 PM.
You’re also invited to the Opening Reception for Carl’s Art Show on Thursday, April 17.
Bring your friends, stop by anytime, and enjoy some art and wine. No RSVPs needed.

Artist Bio
Carl Annala is a fine art painter in Portland, Oregon. He has taught fine arts at all levels for over 20 years. He grew up in McMinnville the only child of professional classical musicians. His father was the school district Orchestra teacher/conductor so of course he is a musician and bandleader, a fixture on the local music scene for decades. Not satisfied with music and art he is also a Butoh dancer, recently performing a solo piece at the Helsinki Butoh Festival last October in Finland. He, his wife and cats enjoy their 100 year old Swedish bungalow in southeast Portland.
How do I purchase Carl's art?
Carl’s artwork will be on view at Blackbird Wineshop (4323 NE Fremont St. Portland, OR 97213) from April 15 – June 15, 2025. There will be QR codes next to each piece of art that you will scan with your phone to purchase each piece.
Can I bring friends to the Opening Reception?
Yes, absolutely! No RSVPs needed. At the Opening Reception, you’ll get a wonderful chance to view Carl’s impressionistic oil-on-canvas art, as well as mingle with other like minded art lovers, and enjoy the atmosphere and delicious food and drink Blackbird Wineshop has to offer!
