Cecilia Yeh

2023 Summer Intern

Name: Cecilia Yeh

Education/Professional Background: Westview High School

Hometown: Portland, Oregon

What brought you to Crag? I grew up in a valley in the middle of the ocean. The nature that blossomed around me naturally introduced me to environmental activism (no pun intended). On the other hand, law enthralls me and I find my real passion is fighting for the rights of those who deserve it. Many of these people fight for the most important part of our daily lives, our environment. I admire the hard work and dedication that so many people at Crag put in and I cannot wait to expand my world knowledge this summer.

What are your environmental/legal interests? I want to pursue a career in law but have not decided what kind of law. I look to broaden my experience by beginning with Crag and sucking up enough knowledge to hopefully help me find my passions in life. I love to work with our future generations, educating them about our planet and the importance of taking care of it.

What will your work focus on while at Crag? I will work as a Development & Communications Intern this summer, expanding my knowledge; my main focus being on blog posts for the Crag website, and creating content with the help of Suzzane Savell.

Favorite place to recreate or be in nature: Hagg Lake charms me with the beautiful symbolic relationship it creates between people and the environment. My home will forever be Manoa Valley however, the rain and birds that wake you every morning capture my amazement.

Favorite book: Though it’s a little out of character, my nature is revealed in gaming and riflery at the Tri-County Gun Club here in Oregon.

Favorite Quote: “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” – Oscar Wilde
