Case spotlight: Defending Forest Park
Everyone deserves clean air, safe water, and healthy green spaces. Across Oregon, people are standing up for their communities and their environment—and for 24 years, Crag has been by their side, turning local organizing into real legal wins. Right now, we’re fighting to protect Forest Park, one of Portland’s most beloved wild places.
We’re representing community members and environmental groups to stop PGE’s plan to clear nearly five acres of old trees, fill wetlands, and harm streams and wildlife. City Council denied the project, but PGE appealed—so our fight continues. Because Portland’s future depends on protecting the places that make it home.

On Saturday, November 15, 2025 Patagonia Portland (106 W Burnside St, Portland, OR 97209) will be hosting an in-store event with Crag Law Center and our fellow Give!GuideG nonprofit partners Bird Alliance of Oregon, Trailkeepers of Oregon, and Forest Park Conservancy. Swing by between 11AM – 1PM for conversation, complimentary coffee, and snacks! All supporters who sign up for our newsletters, follow our groups on social media, or make a gift to our organizations in Give!Guide during the event will be entered in chances to win Patagonia gear!

Give!Guide FAQ
What is Give!Guide, and how long is it open?
Give!Guide is Portland metro’s easiest path to end-of-year giving. The campaign begins on November 1 and closes at midnight December 31.
It’s Willamette Week’s annual effort to raise funds for — and draw attention to — the good works of local nonprofits. G!G has raised more than $73 million for hundreds of local nonprofits since its inception in 2004.
How do I donate through the Give!Guide?
On giveguide.org, find the profile page of the nonprofits you want to give to (here’s Crag’s!), enter in the amount you wish to give, and click the [Add] button. When you’re ready to check out, click the donation amount in the top right of your screen, enter your information, and click submit!
How do Big Give Days work?
Each and every time someone makes a donation on a Big Give Day, they’re automatically entered into a raffle to win a great incentive prize provided by Give!Guide. The winner is randomly drawn the next morning.
- Example: If you give to 3 nonprofits in 1 transaction, you’ll have 3 entries. Why? Because you made 3 donations.
- Pro tip: For more chances of winning, you can break your donation into multiple transactions. For example, instead of giving $100 in 1 transaction, you can make 10 transactions, each time for $10. It’s still $100 total, but now you’ll have 10 entries.
- Dates: This year, Big Give Days are on: November 1, 5, 11, 13, 19, 25m and December 2, 10, 17, 27, 28, 29, 30.
