After several months of work, Crag has helped to secure the removal of the Hemlock Dam on the Wind River Watershed. The Forest Service plans to remove the dam to improve habitat for steelhead and salmon. Crag worked with the Gifford Pinchot Task Force to intervene in a challenge to the dam removal project brought by Skamania County. The County recently dropped its challenge, and the dam is scheduled to be removed this summer!
Check out the Vancouver Columbian’s article on the dam removal.
And here is an earlier Crag blog post about the case.
