Kenji Gullo
Development & Communications Intern - Fall 2022
Name: Kenji Gullo – Intern 2022
School: Lincoln High School
Hometown: Portland, Oregon
What brought you to Crag? I first learned about Crag a few years ago when my family and I attended a concert they were hosting, which is where I first met Suzanne Savell, Crag’s Development Director. This year I remembered Crag and decided that it would be a great fit for me for an internship, as I have always been invested in environmental justice and conservation.
What are your environmental interests/legal interests? I am drawn to the idea of combating climate change and challenging fossil fuel industry through legal means and encouraging the development of renewable energy infrastructure.
What will your work focus on while at Crag? I will be part of the communications & development team. My work will include updating and maintaining Crag’s website, writing staff profiles and social media posts, and helping organize fundraising events.
Favorite place to recreate or be in nature: One of my favorite places in Oregon that my family visits each winter is Mt. Hood. I love to ski and find the snow-covered landscape beautiful. I also enjoy camping and rafting on the Mackenzie river, particularly because the fishing is great.
Favorite book: The Expanse (series) by James S. A. Corey
Favorite Quote: “You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.” – Winston Churchill (possibly apocryphal)
