What brought you to Crag? I moved to the Pacific Northwest to pursue public interest law. With a background in East Asian studies and environmental history, I quickly gained an interest in international environmental law and issues pertaining to environmental justice. I knew I had to be a part of Crag once I saw the organization’s commitment to public interest work and environmental aid.
What are your environmental/legal interests? Environmental justice, international human rights, and international environmental law.
Favorite place to recreate or be in nature: Nothing can beat swimming in a cold river or lake during the summertime. I’m hoping to fall in love with White Salmon River on our rafting trip!
Favorite book: Beloved by Toni Morrison.
Favorite quote: “Cowardice asks the question: is it safe? Expediency asks the question: is it politic? Vanity asks the question: is it popular? But conscience asks the question: is it right? And there comes a time when we must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because it is right.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
